The world’s largest producer of sugar-sweetened beverages reportedly supported a nonprofit that argues weight-conscious Americans are fixated on how much they eat and drink while not paying attention to exercise. Health advocates say Coke is minimizing the link between sugar-sweetened beverages and diseases like obesity and diabetes.

KFC China Just Introduced a Bright Pink Burger Bun

The outrageous fast food trend continues to one-up itself, especially overseas. Burgers in Japan have gone from black to red, and now? Pink! KFC China introduced a bright pink burger bun. This Pepto-Bismol-colored sandwich bun tops the rose cheese roasted chicken leg burger at KFC China. Burger King has promised a variety of rainbow-colored buns. Be on the lookout!

McDonald’s Mobile App Will Roll Out Nationwide This October

On the topic of fast food, McDonald’s mobile app will roll out nationwide this October. The app will allow customers to buy five beverages and get the sixth one free. The McCafe loyalty program will expire with 2015, but could be continued if it’s received well.

Trans Fats Linked to Heart Disease and Death, but Saturated Fats May Be in the Clear

In some promising health news, a recent study found that while trans fats are linked to heart disease and death, saturated fats — the ones found in animal products like butter, milk, meat, salmon, and egg yolks — do not pose the same dangers.

Wheaties Beer? Drink Like Champ!

Speaking of keeping healthy, looks like there’s a new way to eat your Wheaties. The cereal has partnered with a craft brewery in Minneapolis to create a limited-edition Hefeweizen beer named HefeWheaties. Okay, so technically the beer won’t actually be made using the cereal, but hey, now you’ll be able to drink like a champion.
